The Voice

One of my goals for the new year is to settle into more of an even flow with this here blog. I wonder constantly if I should adopt a specific theme.

It’s hard to pinpoint an area that could be mine, one I would feel comfortable wearing indefinitely. All the blogs I love and adore have their own distinctive flavour but within a certain category. I am definitely not a fashion or beauty blogger, nor does the term ‘lifestyle’ fit particularly well with me. I could lean on popular culture but again that is such a broad term and I feel would leave me open to talking more about the Kardashians and I think I’ve done enough of that.

Maybe I could be a book blog, but really I don’t think I’m a strong enough reviewer for that.

I’m at the point where I want to do more, whatever more is, that’s all. Until then – research.

Until research – ponderment.

A question for you: How did you find your blogging mojo and what made you decide on your genre?

  1. My blog came about from reading loads of lovely sewing blogs and having literally no clue what half were on about. The internet totally needed a dummies and beginner look at the whole thing. Tada. But then I ended up using it to bang on about allsorts of other stuff. I love your blog as is, but I’ll be interested to see where you take it if you focus on a particular genre! 🙂

  2. My blog started as a single woman does dating blog, but kind of evolved into a relationships and Trans issues blog as time went by.
In part this was because I went through a date drought (it’s sort of ongoing if I’m honest), and also because when I wrote about relationships and Trans stuff people wanted to know more, and I realised that not many people were writing about this. I guess I found a niche 🙂

I’d try writing about what matters to you, and seeing where it goes!

    • Thank you, Once Wild. I love your blog by the way and the story of how it has evolved, I found you via your Twitter and have been having a good read. Very nicely written and interesting.

I do tend to write what I care about and I think you’re right, maybe just see what happens. Nothing really needs to anyway, I don’t have a plan or anything!

Thanks for reading, I’m looking forward to more x
