Today’s word is trust: write a poem in which you address, reflect on, or tell a story about the feeling of trusting or being trusted by another (person, animal, object, potted plant…). Or about distrusting them (or not being trusted yourself). Via Writing 201: Trust (17th February 2015)
Today’s form: acrostic
This was a hard but satisfying style to try and crack. I’m quite sure you could argue that I didn’t quite hit the mark but I did what was asked and that is enough for me.
To the poem:
Say something about Trust they said
Eloquent preferably and acrostic
Come on girl, you can do this
Unless your hand falls off
Ruminate on your one true love
Illustrative of the very definition of
Your security, your love, your life
Yeah. So there’s that.
Trust to me is all about security. It’s so important to know I am with someone I can trust no matter what, who makes me feel secure and loved, no matter how neurotic I’m being. Since my love and I started a long term relationship and lived in very different lands, thousands of miles apart, we had to trust each other early on otherwise it wouldn’t have worked. I’ve never regretted it.
