A to Z of Advice

I’m not too proud to admit I turned to the internet for inspiration this week. It’s not that I don’t have my own ideas or experiences to chat about but sometimes it’s good to branch out a little and take your lead from someone else. Hence this little bad boy, which was actually fun to fill in. I found it via a blog called A Grande Life. Continue reading “A to Z of Advice”

Plan B

Blogging has been sparse since the wonderful #blogtober wrapped up and I don’t really like that, so I’m setting myself some writing goals for the next couple of months.

November is half done of course so I’ve been slack as usual but it’s never too late to pull it together. I’ve got plans for #blogmas too, my own take on bloggers fave #vlogmas. Continue reading “Plan B”

Blogtober 2018 – Round Up

Not my finest Blogtober but it wasn’t a complete disaster by any stretch. I managed 28/31 posts and that’s okay with me. I had two Halloween parties and lots of other October engagements, what’s a gal to do?

I do really love writing a post every day though, it really inspires me to think outside the box when it comes to content and the Halloween theme is delightful. I’m already psyched for next year.

Here’s what I came up with:

  1. Late Night Lady DJ
  2. Autumn Projects
  3. Veronica (Film) Review
  4. America Horror Story Rewatch
  5. Autumn Book Recommendation: The Little Stranger
  6. Autumn Bucket List
  7. 3 Contemporary Horrors
  8. CopenYAYgen
  9. The Scariest Tale of All
  10. Patchwork (Film) Review
  11. American Horror Story Rewatch: Part 2
  12. Final Girl Friday: Helen Lyle, Candyman (1992)
  13. Autumn TV Recommendation: The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell
  14. Horror F(r)iends
  15. The Monday Feeling
  16. Scream Queen Girl Gang (Modern Edition)
  17. Ouija: Origin of Evil (Film) Review
  18. 3 Witchy Horrors
  19. Final Girl Friday: Sara, Creep 2
  20. Autumn TV Recommendation: Haunted
  21. Autumn TV Recommendation: The Haunting of Hill House
  22. Fall Anthems
  23. You Can’t Handle the Tooth
  24. Horror & Anxiety
  25. Spooky Podcasts
  26. Final Girl Friday: Laurie Strode, Rob Zombie’s Halloween I & II
  27. Autumn TV Recommendation: Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
  28. The Most Assassinated Woman in the World (Film) Review

It’s been real. Thanks for reading and commenting.

Until next time!

Drafts

I’ve got some annual leave this week. While I’ve made a few plans – dinner with a friend, cinema, tattoo on Thursday – let’s not pretend I’m not spending the majority of it on the sofa with The Handmaid’s Tale and various films, while my tea kettle works over time.

My intention is to also blog as much as I can because it’s one of the first things neglected when I’m busy or not feeling it.

While I was considering what on Earth to talk about, I landed on the idea of raiding my Drafts folder and running with some of those unfulfilled ideas, there are hundreds of them. Some are just one word titles too, like ‘Confidence’. Cryptic, huh?

I wonder what I was thinking when I made the effort of label that post, with no further comment? No matter, let’s see what I can do with them this week, shall we?

What does your week look like?

Weekly Digest

This week I’m digging:

marcella_featured_blog_02
Marcella

IMDB Synopsis

Marcella Backland left the Metropolitan Police for the sake of her family, only to have her husband leave her. She returns to her job on the murder squad, investigating a case that seems disturbingly familiar to her.

Fucking hell. This show is great, Anna Friel is brilliant and men are the worst, obviously.

There are a lot of characters to keep track of and therefore a lot of suspects but it’s a compelling British crime thriller that keeps you on the edge. Particularly Marcella herself who could be good, could be bad but regardless is still someone you’re totally on-board with at all times.

Recommend.

Moleskine® Film Journal

I was recently given this amazingly thoughtful gift by my friend, Damon for my birthday. (Picture above, not mine).

The film journal is part of the Passion Journal range that allows you to log information about your hobbies (there’s wine, gardening, books). I’d already decided that keeping a log of the films we watch for the podcast was what I wanted to do – you know, actually writing down the name of actors and directors could do wonders for content. So this came at the best time. Here you can record comments on the films, give them a rating out of 5 stars, etc. It’s very cool.

Thanks again, Damon!

Podcasting Again

Speaking of the podcast, after a December hiatus James and I are back in the studio. If by studio, I mean James’ front room, on the sofa (which is what I definitely mean).

I’ve really missed having the structure of watching films to talk about and having the podcast as my main (with this blog) creative outlet. You sometimes don’t realise how much you love and need these things until you stop doing them, even temporarily.

So we’re back in the game, determined to tighten things up and be more organised. I’m going to be better about taking notes (see above) – and I can’t wait to get stuck in.

Move to (10)

The Women of the Golden Globes

Goddesses, the lot of them. And yes, I could say a lot more than that but what have I got worth adding? Let them speak for themselves.

What are you digging this week?

Stop! (Blogtober) Time 🛑

Putzel (96)

It’s that time of the year again. Yes, the best season of all, Autumn – and the impending arrival of magical Halloween – but also Blogtober, the month in which I aim to blog every day without fail.

We’ll see how that goes but I’m going to try. I feel like I’ve got a piece of myself back after a hazy and somewhat melancholy Summer, and there’s lots to say about some of the changes I’ve made in my life so if you’re game then I am too. Starting tomorrow there will be a post from me for the next 31 days. Lucky, lucky you!

I’m hungover AF after Friday drinks so I’ll leave this post here for today – and catch you tomorrow.

PS. Anyone else care to join me in this? 🎃 🦇 👻
